It's been years since I played Sims 2 or 3 but... in the older games, didn't we have to order a bag of groceries to stock the fridge? I feel like that was a thing, but I might be remembering it wrong.
As for well, everyone just orders things online now... that is true and I don't mind ordering things from the computer but there should be a brief wait time, and then a delivery guy should come to the house with a package for your Sim to sign. The idea that it just shows up in your pocket is pretty silly.
You're correct. We could send our sims to one of the community lots that sell groceries (which I also used as an opportunity to meet sims), they'd buy the groceries, go home and stock the fridge. Or, you could click on the fridge, select "order groceries" and a delivery sim would show up with the groceries. I do miss all of the little details Sims 2 has, it adds a richness to the game. Plus, I loved the huge worlds with the ability to add lots just about anywhere I wanted.
I do like Sims 4 much more than I used to, but there still are a bunch of sticking points for me. The worlds are too small, for one. It impacts my creativity when I have to rein myself in to minimal community lots so that I have enough room for my sims. It would be nice too, if we could have more world options. The same old worlds with no variety gets a little old. I'm still very disappointed that we're restricted to apartments in San Myshuno only. Being able to build apartments Sims 2-style in any of the worlds would help conserve space.
