Yes. The team went out of its way to be inclusive. More so, it seemed to be their prime objective to give the community another tool that is customizable and very powerful. Even if EA never added another tradition, I can foresee mod creators creating many, many more.
Since there's a Fitness tradition, if/when I buy Seasons, I wouldn't mind trying to recreate a version of the NYC marathon. I'd have Sims jogging everywhere. :D
Or, I could try a Sim version of the Feast of San Gennaro on a lot in the Spice District. I'd put a small pile of presents next to a statue and then, I would try to get the Sims visiting the event to add onto the pile. Afterward, I would create another event, just for the kids. That's when they would be able to open all of the gifts that the community donated.
There's so much that could be done with the Calendar. :)
