So What Did You Put In Ravenwood?

What lots did you put in Ravenwood?

  • I put a very classy restaurant in the town neighborhood. It uses a lot of assets from the new pack. I think it might become a new favourite restaurant for my sims. I will try to get pictures next week. I don't think I will get into the game earlier.

  • It's been a while since I grew so devoted to a new world this quickly, Ravenwood  triggers so many ideas for stories, occults, religion, secrets etc. And that is before I even said hello to Grim. I've been super busy adjusting households, like I always do with creating their family tree many generations back, taking "old" family pictures etc. It's lots of fun for me to see how families weave into each other, triggering eve more stories. I also tried to find a main mission for most households, avoiding them to become just another household that cooks and sleep.

I have hardly built anything yet, and this is also a good sign regarding Ravenwood. Most of the houses are well built, only a couple of them might get expanded some. I'll post a series on my blog with details, but when talking about lots, here are some adjustments I made:

I really want a restaurant or café in Crow's Crossing, maybe in the Moppy house, but so far I keep the house as residential. It's the only lot that would function as a sit down and take in the atmosphere for tourists and locals as the other lots are too high up from the town square.

Specter House is now Ravenwood Vicarage. House practically unchanged, just adjusted outdoors a bit for the Priest's wife to access fresh eggs and milk for the cakes she is expected to bake for the church ;)

The 64x64 lot at Whispering Glen is becoming a farm, and a 2nd little family will stay in a servants cottage on the same lot. Not built yet, but both families are created. The Mux-Raisser family has a very long top community story in my Ravenwood, while the Raven family is actually their servants/gardeners. I originally thought a family named Raven would be essential in a district named Ravenwood, but not this one. They even carry an awful skin disease, which might actually be part of their sad story. I had a Raven household in my save since 2014 so it was logical that they would hail from Ravenwood, but there are so many generations back to where the two branches meet that I doubt they even ha ve any contact.

Marigold Chateau has become vacation property of HRM King Tarriot, but local agreements were made to allow for both the retired Priest and the Mux-Raissers to benefit from the chateau when the royal family is not saying there.

The bar/pub lot will probably be the only community lot aside of the main cemetery. I think I'll transform it into a Restaurant, but with a tiny museum/gallery included. Need somewhere to show off Ravenwoods past :)

Teardrop Cottage is owned by the Mux-Raissers, but let to families who craft stuff and deliver their produce to the farm. Not totally decided yet.

Mourning Glen has not gotten my full attention yet. Specter was moved into the Cozy lot (left), and I made a story line suggesting that the Club is in a house that originally belonged to Vladislaus Straud's parents, and that his sister is still around, blood thirsty but mostly living a hidden life. I'm not planning to play ghosts, but I like Esther and used her house to store a few other EA sims until I've decided. The large empty lot will probably be a camp ground until I need it for something else - could also be a nice and mysterious Spa. Need more thinking - love that hood but prefer playing a tad realistically.

(ooups, didn't intend to write a novel here, hey-ho!)
