  • TS4 is a slow-paced game and high refresh rates will provide very little benefit.
  • Agree with elelunicy... If Sims is the only game you play, stick with 60 Hz.

High framerate such as 120 Hz is more for FPS games (first-person shooter) where every frame matters for quicker player response/accuracy. Sims is not that kind of game obviously and having 120 Hz isn't going to do very much for your sims. As a simming friend of mine has said "Your sim was going to burn those waffles and be late for work anyway.". Well... we don't have waffles in TS4 but you get the point. ;)

If you have a nice modern graphics card, I recommend going with a 2560 x 1440 res IPS monitor. The higher resolution really does look nice and the color accuracy with an IPS panel is beautiful. Sims 4 UI does not scale with higher resolution so you may find yourself needing to manually adjust the UI size.
  • Assuming your PC can pump out the required frames, I always go for the higher refresh rate. It’s gotten to the point where I can “feel” 60 FPS now, even in TS4 if I ever sit down to play on my wife’s laptop.

I understand that I’m in the minority, though. For most people 60 FPS with the picture quality of an IPS panel will be the way to go.
  • I'm building a new PC,and I use a lot of CC (50 GB) and I have every pack in Origin. And I only play TS4. Which should i buy? 60 or 120 Hz?
  • As pointed out above, the monitor refresh rate is irrelevant to Sims 4. With lots of CC a large HDD or SSD, a beefy CPU and a beefy graphics card are more important.

For TS4 its purely a matter of preference what monitor you get, although a larger monitor is always best

    EDIT SSD. not SDD
