"79 items removed" when placing a room

I've been playing the Sims for 18 years (since it was first released) but I usually don't run into problems like this. I've tried MOO on and MOO off. I've tried placing the room on empty ground. As I said, I own every EP an SP. The in-game styled rooms should not be giving me an "items removed" message. Is there any way to fix this? :(
