Your sim don't need to have a throne object at home. It is possible to use any throne in your sim's hood, so might be fun taking advantage of your neighbor the Duke's throne, or maybe there is a community lot throne near by for any local to spend some time on?
In any neighborhood of your Sim's world. For my Fairy, that meant all of Innisgreen: The Everdew (where he lives), Sprucederry Grove, and the Coast of Adhmor.
When he lived at a small starter lot, I placed a throne and a lectern, as well as a Waltz dancefloor, in the Stardust Lounge in Everdew, so as to have an adequate venue for Court.
