A few questions about the Get Famous and Seasons packs

I know I have complained about how Seasons managed to break the game without mods and all the updates to try to fix the problems Seasons had with its initial update prior to release and longer than a couple months afterwards. Really I never had to wait as long for anything in The Sims Franchise to be playable after updates that ended up breaking the game completely after the release of a pack was released and that again was without even MCCC any mods or CC. I was having problems much longer than I should have.

1. Have the major problems Seasons was having fixed or at least tolerable?
2. Is Seasons worth getting? I loved Seasons for both Sims 2 and Sims 3. I doubt it will knock my socks off like Sims 2 and Sims 3 did when they both came out. Absolutely amazing. Is it at least playable now?
3. How is Get Famous? Is it worth getting and is playable without any serious problems that should have been caught during the playtesting? I don't care how much the playtesters geeked out over something as I do with them doing their job catching problems that anybody playing vanilla with any of the other packs or just base game would experience. Don't get me wrong I want a game to be fun but being playable is the most important thing.

I really don't need to buy it but a part of me is a bit of a completest lol. Seasons and Get Famous are the only 2 I'm missing.

4. How well do both packs add to gameplay? Do we have the option to have "crazy" fans or not?

I know a few things got fixed much like father winter not moving into a household anymore. He got booted out of one soon as the patch came that and he's not hanging around unneeded around my home after Winterfest ends. (Getting glasses of orange juice or milk out of the fridge.)

Sims aren't opening umbrellas and holding them inside venues when they walk in from the rain and sitting awkwardly there holding them. Haven't had sims freezing to death anymore in their active wear long as they're being active.

Not sure if the rain situation outfits for some walkby's have been fixed, since I had a small mod installed to keep any npc sims walking along the streets from being in random situation outfits when it rains. It's minor, but I see sims wearing fashion disasters already.

This thus far has been my experience, least what was major to me. Still been able to enjoy Seasons fully. Though you can check out the bug reports. There's some bugs I didn't know were happening and/or haven't experienced.

Aging bug has been fixed. Haven't ran into anything game breaking with Get Famous. Only other thing is service NPC sims much like DJ sims and bartenders getting distracted by sims when the strike a pose to leave them awed. They'll go back to what they were doing and for me they only ever seem to do it once or twice without being an annoyance and saunter off elsewhere, but this does need to be tweaked some, but it hasn't been invasive.

I've been enjoying the pack and clocking in a lot of hours in it and that's outside the acting career. The style influencer is very fun and I do like the reputation system sims can have. With using cheats you can even add the special perks/quirks to sims and they don't even have to be famous. Adds another layer of interesting traits for sims to have and I love it. Relationships starting off bad due to your dastardly reputation and making it harder to make friends. Other sims pretty much texting you hearing about how you treated someone and questioning their friendship with you. Even stealing something and it starts to get around that you steal.

Can customize feminine and masculine trends and see sims occasionally wearing them when they're in the world which is pretty cool.

Obsessed fans (stans) are definitely a thing it happens when you sign a few autographs with fans constantly and you get the quirk. Stans will hang around the front of your home and go through your trash if you have an outdoor bin. If you have some backyard furniture and other things they tend to go around the back and might use them. (Had one dancing to a stereo and then she swiped a plate my sim had ate off from and was smelly and she took it. Creepy.) You can chase them away too, but they will be back eventually (next day or so). Same with paparazzi or 'tourists/fans' being in front of your home. Can pay off paparazzi with 500 and your sim will slap it in their hand and angrily point in the direction to get their butt out of here to leave them alone.

Been trying to have a musician sim get famous and busk for tips playing at venues, but it never fails that a celebrity (usually thorne bailey) comes along to steal your thunder.

You can even do Celebrity meet and greets in events or even go to one when a sim mentions a celebrity been sighted at a certain venue.

I've found myself doing a lot of things before my sim even became a one star celebrity with the chance cards and events happening. Even a talent show that occurs now and again at lounges your sim can sign up for via the bar. (Makes lounges far more interesting too.)
  • In order for us to help you, you will need to clearly spell out to us what seasons patch did to make the game "completely unplayable" for you. Because a lot of us were able to keep playing so the things that made the game unplayable for you might not have bothered us.

But if you shed light on that for us then we will have a better idea what type of things are problematic for you.
  • I couldn't play aliens and vampires. I couldn't give my vampires any weaknesses even with them gaining enough experience to become Vampire Masters and Grandmasters. Because I couldn't give them weaknesses because of it I couldn't give them strengths, Yes I know there is a mod to remove weaknesses but when I am creating a game simply for testing I use zero mods and zero CC. I don't need my brain thinking well is it the game or the mods and CC causing the troubles. To eliminate that I simply play vanilla and remove my mods folder before starting my test household/s.

The draught of reconfiguration didn't work for me at all to reset my vampires. I had to keep them inside until after dark. My aliens would have the floating teeth and floating eyeballs with a weird head and I tried clearing stuff out because of it. I had to uninstall and reinstall Origins several times. I had to clear out my Origins cache a few times. I would have some aliens with missing body parts. I could not create daywalkers for the life of my sim and kept him inside until it got dark. I don't mind my having zero Daywalkers but I do like weakness to balance my vampires strengths when testing them in game. My kids were losing their guardians faster than my usual bad luck because of emotional deaths. My kid and her twin brother ended up going through 6 guardians before they aged up to teens. Which for me is something other than just rotten luck with my kids, (Yes I know I can disable emotional deaths but I do like that feature even though it makes my kids orphans and searching for what household they ended up in.). The game would constantly crash to the point I had to save after every action my sims did. The game would freeze a lot. Again this without mods and CC. It took about 2-3 months before everything was fixed. I ended up getting ahold of the help centre to finally fix it so that I could effectively test my households I created.

I haven't noticed anything terrible with the Get Famous pack updates at all. It's a little "laggy" but I think it's because they put the positivity activity in around the same time instead of waiting for a little while. I can give my vampires strengths and weaknesses. No floating teeth and eyeballs. No body parts missing. No crashing. No Freezing. No last exceptions in abundance. Not an overwhelming number of emotional deaths. No issues at all that I can find at going vanilla. I felt confident enough to have MCCC and a couple CC items that would be least suspected of causing problems. Slowly adding stuff back in now.
