Doesn't sound like a family guy to me. If what I'm seeing is correct, vlad IV was also Vlad 1 and up. He founded Forgotten Hollow, and still runs it 200 years later.

He never talks about it, but the whole story is in the Ultimate Vampire Tome. He and a group of others apparently found what became the vampire realm... and only one of them came out of it not entirely dead.
Wow, this sounds like a cool story to actually play out.
Theory... did the horrible incident occur during a nasty war between other occults- which lead to a spell Caster making a vampire? The ultimate tome mentioned a curse.
