I think these were around $180 so that's definitely something to consider. And they're great for calls and listening to movies and music. I was able to hook them up to the computer so I can hear all my games, too. But they definitely don't do what a hear aid could. I wish you luck while you wait for your appointment.
@Mizzila1297 I'm so sorry that you've been through that! I suggest going to try them out and keeping the receipt. I wasn't sure if they would work for me so I kept the box and everything intact as much as possible. Fortunately, they did. The ones I got are called Aftershokz Aeropex and I bought them at Best Buy in the states. Now I must also warn you to keep your expectations in check. My step-mom has the same condition as me and these did not work for her, however, she has had surgery on her ear and I never have. So if you have had any kind of surgery, they may not work. I was very sad to hear that she still could not hear. I wish you the best of luck and hope with all my might that they do work for you. Please come back and let me know if you tried them and if you were able to hear.

I like to play music a lot, but I haven't been able to lately without amps because I just can't hear anything without them. I've gotten very used to doing a lot of things by feel (like play the bass), but my video games never have any sound, and I can't watch any TV at all without subtitles.
