A question for the builders

Has anybody else had a CC free build unmodded come up as modded? My last 3 CC free unmodded builds came up as modded (I was challenging myself to see if I could do a decent build with no mods and no CC in the build) and I was curious if anybody else was having this issue or knew what was the cause. I was building with EA lots next to my lots and empty lots next to where I was building. If this is a bug please fix it. There are many amazing builders who answer the challenge of CC free and unmodded builds for simmers out and those simmers who are looking for CC free builds might see a build that has zero CC and no modded items and not download an amazing build one of the other builders out there built all because it's coming up as being modded when it's not. I was avoiding everything with a wrench by it in these builds double even triple checking to see where the modded/CC item was and it was nowhere to be found. As someone who builds and rarely share on the gallery because I often use a heavy amount of CC and modded items (slots for bay windows and other things.) and would feel awful if I made somebody go hunt down everything, I was using or if I forgot to add in something in the list of CC and modded items used in a particular build. When I do create something CC free that looks nice I share it on the gallery sometimes.

When I typically build I don't do CC free builds and have lousy landscaping and horrible terrain. I really was curious to see if I could do a decent build with no CC or modded items like having bay windows have usable space for clutter.

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just disable the mods when you build like this? Less items to sift through.
  • I have discovered that if I have mods in my game that doesn't apply to any type of building such as being able to purchase more of the in-game produce at the markets, and I have a garden in my lot that I'm uploaded it will show the lot as being modded, even though all the plants are from the game and not CC.

I have found the easiest way to get rid of the modded CC is to first build whatever, then save and exit my game. Then completely remove the mods folder, and then start up the game. After that go to the lot, and then upload it. It took me nearly a year to finally figure this out.

It has happened to me before. Having cc in your game at ALL, regardless of the type, can make your builds show up as modded content. Ive removed random pieces of cc like hairstyles/makeup even, and then seen the issue disappear. CC can mess up your game. I am 99% cc free. I only use skin replacements (thinking about not using them , but they just look so much nicer) and non-default eye replacements .
  • @Sim_Architects I wasn't aware that having any CC at all would cause this problem. Even though EA should give the devs time and resources they need to fix this problem. Thank you for letting me know that. It's appreciated.

@LaBlue0314 Thanks for the advice too with removing mod folder before starting a CC/mod free build to keep this problem from happening.
