Like most everyone else has said, I don't really consider what we're doing in the Sims to be cheating. I use cheats to advance story and create compelling sims. I'm not gonna take the time to manually work a family up to wealth if I want to start on their kids generation instead. I'll just give them the skills, jobs, and luxurious mansion they would have earned by then.
When it comes to skills I even have my own little rules when cheating them up, if they haven't earned them they only get 3-5 skill levels, unless I want them to have focused on an area or need them to mentor their children.
