Today I learned something about the esteemed Judith Ward. She's an opportunist. She lives just down the hill from my Cantrell Family. Erik is a Global Superstar, Rock Star. He politely introduced himself to her when she came as part of the Welcome Wagon and in fact, invited the neighbors into his parents' home. Today, she called Erik and mentioned there was a Local Talent Show down at the lounge and did he want to come with her so they could totally embarrass themselves? I thought to myself, why not. Erik signed up at the bar and then took a brief swim to cool off. (It is summer in my game.) Next thing I knew he was called to perform. I clicked on the Karaoke machine selected duo and Judith came forward and took a microphone. Erik quickly joined her and together (ah-hem, sort of together that is) they sang the Pop song duet. I decided to video it, just in case we're allowed to share here on the forums.Erik was great, as usual, but even he couldn't carry poor Judith. Now, the question is, was she trying to humiliate the Teen, or was she hoping to further elevate her own skills?Please share your opinion on this, and if you have another revelation about good old' Judith, please share that, too. I just thought this was funnier than all-get-out.

I'd imagine Judith was probably trying to embarrass Erik, or maybe for some reason she believed she might be a better singer than him, and wanted to prove it. Then again, maybe she was hoping Erik would give her some advice on improving her own singing? Personally, I think she was probably jealous of Erik because he's so famous at such a young age, and thought she could win the talent show.

My Judith doesn’t need to improve her skills. She’s already a karaoke legend, as far as she’s concerned. Others would beg to differ, but Judith would shout them down , throw a tantrum, or ignore the peasants completely. Dahling, they simply don’t know what greatness is.

She's Judith Ward. She's the 'even if I'm bad, I'm still More Awesome Than You' type of sim, and self-embarassement is kind of part of her brand.

Oh, she really is a cougar. Judith just called Teen Erik again, telling him she heard that painting at the Romance Festival is the thing now. Did he want to come try it? ::jaw drop:: She must be smitten with the boy. :open_mouth:

Thank you all for your comments. Some absolutely made me laugh out loud, which I really needed. Also, some were quite thoughtful. I have to admit, I was suspicious of her reasons to ask him to the lounge. I pondered if she wanted advice, or if she was simply trying to humiliate him. Takes much more than the other half of a duet caterwauling to humiliate him. He sounded great. She's the one who sounded as if somebody stepped on the cat. When I'm finished playing for the day, I'll post some pictures. Does anyone know if we're allowed to post videos we made in the game? I went ahead and hit the V while they were 'performing'. I would very much like to share it. It's hysterical.

Her being a cougar is actually pretty funny, because in my game Judith, an adult, married another male Sim, who was a young adult. She has a daughter with him, and the daughter's name is Diamond. So, for me, Judith had a midlife crisis, and is now making her daughter follow her in the acting career.

You know, I was always of the opinion that she's much older, however, in looking at her face, she doesn't show age (which isn't saying much. My own mother hardly looked in her eighties, until near the end.) I believe it's Judith's hairstyle that makes her appear older. I'm guessing her to be maybe in her late thirties, which still makes her twice Erik's age. He's only sixteen at the moment. LOL

I felt like hollering at him, "Run, Erik, run!" He made it to the top by his God-given talent, and his respect for others.
