Accessories, is there a way to limit them?

I've added cc items for sims I want to look like fairies, elves, cyberpunk etc and now my townies are wearing wings with elven arm bands and mermaid head pieces

Can I somehow limit the accessories section? I feel like I've seen people talk about a mod that can do this

  • Sims 4 studio has an option box that you can check that will prevent random townies from getting that item assigned to them by the game when they are generated. It's been a while since I used that last but I know the feature exists. You open the file with S4S and you will see the option.
  • Like @DaniRose2143 stated if it's just a few items you want to prevent randoms from wearing you can open each package up in S4S and just tick the check boxes.

But I thought I remembered seeing an option under Batch Fixes that would prevent it, I've never tried it as I normally don't have a lot of CAS CC in my game and use Batch Fixes mostly for BB CC.

So I opened up S4S to check and there are options to stop randoms from wearing certain items. Depending on how you have your Mods folder set up (I have mine set up by type of CC so it's easy for me to determine which item I want to remove rather than by creator).

Here's a Pic to show you how (Just make sure the CC you want to be disabled for Randoms are in your Mods Folder

  • Avoid turning off the random tag on default CC if you do a batch fix. It won't function correctly. Example: default eyes and skin... not to be confused w/ non-default eyes and skin.
  • @Chicklet453681 I have most of my cc categorized by cc hair cc female shoes cc boy toddlers etc and this specific lore cc has its own file to include hair accessories shoes clothing even makeup so can I disallow that whole folder? I don't really care if townies show up in regular cc but I would rather them not be in the lore meant for a specific few sims... kinda takes away from their charm

  • @SimplyJen Thanks for that tip! I have never done it and I'm sure it would have never occurred to me that the default replacements would mess up things because EVERY SIM uses those.

But now that I DO want to use some CAS CC in my game (And I don't want any randoms wearing it so if I ever take it out, I don't have worlds full of barefooted naked bald sims running around), I want try it.
  • @wahini2024 if it's like it is when I do batch fixes for BB CC, you choose the folder to run the batch fix on, so in your case, make sure your special CC you don't want them to use is in a folder on it's own and just choose that folder to run the batch fix on

  • There also are mods that limit them without having to touch any of your CC with Sims4Studio, but these mods work globally and aren't restricted to certain pieces.
