I watched Cinderellimouse (hope I spelled that correctly!) in her cross pack compatibility video. She reported that raising bugs in Eco Lifestyle contributed to the new entomology skill. In the comments, she was asked about Outdoor Retreat.
She was so helpful and checked on this. Yes, it counts! You can even use the new nets to catch the insects from Outdoor Retreat.
I was fully expecting this not to affect entomology skill at all. This team thought through everything! I highly recommend Cinderellimouse's video as she has covered cross pack compatibility so well!
