Origin does like to leave things behind after uninstallation. There's a way to remove all those, including registry items listed in this help article:https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Before you try that, as it's a good bit fussy and complicated, did you try running something like CCleaner after uninstalling the Origin client? That should remove all remaining registry items and leftover files that your original installation left behind.
(I know there's a reset app for Mac, but it works differently on there than on PC :/)
If none of the above works, you might need to try and contact EA help who might have a better insight into a possible solution.
