After School Activites

I wish sims had actual after school activities though. They could add a ballet studio venue, or a simfu dojo or something else where kids can go and progress through these hobbies/skills. Would be great if they learned these at a much slower rate than normal skills so that they'd join as kids and earn their black belt at a much older age if they continued practicing and winning sparring contests like irl and then start making money off of it. They could gradually win ribbons, then medals and then trophies.

Yes, it's very sad they dropped this idea without continuation. Just two clubs are not enough.

@Dannakyri1 if you don't mind mods try Ilka's mods for children and teens. They are amazing. New aspirations, after-school activities, events and odd-jobs. I use everything by her.

You can take your kids to the art center, they have drawing tables there and the little violins for kids. You could also try to set up clubs for kids for activities they can do like swimming, dancing, science, etc.

I would like to have more after school activities for kids. With the current aspirations kids all seem to have the same interests, especially in large families.

I currently have different clubs for children/teen hobby's ( like swimming, creative). I also have all my played and unplayed teens in 'classes', where they find their own friends independent of their siblings.

My clubs meet at the house which has a pond near by so they can fish. No one has to leave to attend a club gathering. I usually have my kids do all 4 aspirations plus scouts so I can switch up club activities depending on the aspiration. When they first go to school I have my kids make friends or go to the park on Sat. to meet other kids. I prefer the hands on approach to rabbit holes.

I used to have a mod for afterschool activities but I did not like it. The kids were never home during the week. They only had a hour between school and the activity. Hard to green a kid in an hour plus homework. When they got home in the evening they didn't have times to do much before they collapsed. They didn't have time to work on the requirements for the activity so they didn't progress. Sure, I could have cheated needs but not my style. I already use MCCC to make the day longer in real-time with needs at deceased rate. I just prefer a hands on approach with a family supper meal.

I second or third more rabbit hole after school activities! I already use the clubs as clubs..chess club, drama club, science club, etc. I need more places for family members to run off to where I don't have to control them lol.

So players want more rabbit holes so they don't have to play the game. I'm all for adding more rabbit holes but I do not have to use them and that's fine. I enjoy playing a different way.

No, players want more rabbit holes so we don't have to constantly micromanage the sims we play. Or at least feel as if we need to. Rabbit holes are for the most part safe - no harm comes to sims in a rabbit hole. And a sim can't do anything stupid either, thank the gods. Holdover from Sims 1 & 2 maybe? You know, when things had consequences?

Here is what I said in a similar thread posted in the Console section;

I'd like to see more after school activities. I don't want every child sim in my game to be a scout and very few meld with the acting club. I'd like to see a Science and a Chess clubs for those who enjoy mental stimulation over physical. I'd like more variety for physical clubs i.e. Swimming, Karate, Dance and Ballet, Football and Basketball. I'd like Cadets. I'd like an Art and a Music club. I'd like a Book club. I'd like Young Adults, Adults and maybe even Elders to be able to teach/run these part-time activities and classes. I'd like if there were award ceremonies for these clubs and classes that families can attend if a child is taking part in a competition, presenting their work or about to 'graduate'. I'd like aspirations to Graduate from said activities and clubs for children and to run said activies and clubs successfully for Young Adults, Adults and Elders. I'd like a lot of things... ?
