Well I'm not really in windows mode, I just press alt+tab after pausing the game and then I can switch between the internet and the game.
@Terrylin, I think she had 1 day left before I changes the lifespan. Then when I changed it, it became her birthday. But I had the same problem with the child sim, when I was trying to age up early. I haven't tried it again though because I've been busy with the mom.
