AI routing - lazy/unprioritized implementation?

Does anyone else feel like its like that? Seems like nobody bother to implement actual AI routing collision, where Sims just phase and clip through one another. Or didn't have enough production time, ...

I hate that Sims constantly clip through objects or other Sims.
It breaks the immersion if your Sim just walks through the coffee table all the time.
