I haven't had any fires with the dryer, even when it wasn't upgraded. I did have my Sims change the lint trap all the time. Then again, most of the time, the dryer was waiting on the repairman.
The incense holders, on the other hand, are absolutely deadly. I used them a lot when I first got the Spa pack, but now, I rely on other objects to 'set the mood'. It's very difficult for a child to finish her homework two times while focused when she's doing the 'fire dance'. (Great description.)
