Am I the only one who never cared to play families or with ageing on?

While it's neat there is the option, I honestly have played with ageing off ever sims 2 introduced ageing. Only briefly did I play with it on and it's just not for me. Neither is controlling families...

I've been meaning to start a legacy challenge but whenever i try to start one, i dont know where to start. I much prefer building and especially family homes and i like to make families for the houses so i dont really like starting with one sim. Kinda the opposite of when people say the like to build houses with sims in mind.
