Am I the only one who never cared to play families or with ageing on?

While it's neat there is the option, I honestly have played with ageing off ever sims 2 introduced ageing. Only briefly did I play with it on and it's just not for me. Neither is controlling families. By the time children are in an age group they get more options, they have to waste most of their time on school and homework. With adults you can just do whatever if you use a money cheat.

Must say though I'm someone who has zero interest in ever having children.

I just prefer to play with a bunch of different adults, see how they interact with each other, set them on career tracks, maybe try some social experiments like put them in a prison, explore them being a supernatural, a mad scientist or otherwise having a pretty interesting life since I really don't care much for the mundane. I am already living that.

I also like the chaos, the unpredictable things. And that's something I do miss most in sims 4. It plays it safe too much, it always gives a way out. And that just takes away some much needed excitement. I made a whole survival house and all, put eight sims in the deepest basement and let each sim advance a level up if they accomplished something specific, each level granting some more access to privileges and objects.

All eight survived. Even after each of them made a wish at the wishing well while the hooded face showed. In a cursed haunted house. With a werewolf and a vampire among the group.

  • I have 7 saves, and only one of them has aging on. And I never have families in my game, it just doesn't fit my gameplay style

  • I tend to have aging off for my games. The biggest reason is that I have multiple families on each save file, and pick and choose who I want to play with that day.

I also keep aging off so I can have all my Sims age around the same time. I do have some single Sims, and some families, but tend to skip some stages to get the Sims where I want.

I don't play Sims that often, but I do have my single Sims get married, or keep them single to switch up the game play, so not everything is the the same. I often have my Sims that do get married have kids, and age them up to children pretty much right away. During that time I tend to have the married Sims have kids, or other families have kids, so I can age them up in groups. From there I can decide who stays single, and who marries.

One thing I also do it switch up the dynamics in families. I have married couples with the kids, and then some families where siblings live together, and some where my single Sims may adopt a kid, or have a science baby.

I plan to age up my older sims, so I can still keep aging off, but have different generations in my game. I do like my first Sims, but I also want to have some progression with the game. Some of my favorite Sims may become vampires, and watch over their descendants.

That's why I like seeing your posts in picture threads. It's refreshing to see post that are not connected to family or love life gameplay. I love playing families and young love with a dash of comedy and a 1/2 cup of drama.

This game is full of comedy and drama in general. 🙂

I'm a rotational player: I have many played households (in many different saves, and in all of those saves I have many played households in the same save; I try to limit the amount of played households per save though, so that there wouldn't be too many in one save, so that I have more time and so that it's easier to play them rotationally). I enjoy the variety, to have different types of households: I have families with children, some of the families are generational families (grandparents living with the family), small families, big families, couples, single living alone -households, siblings living together, friends living together etc.

I also enjoy to have my played households to be connected & interact with each other: they might be relatives, or they are friends with each other.

I like my Sims to age, but I prefer to keep aging off and age my Sims at my own pace when I want (so I use a birthday cake to age them when aging is off).

I play with aging off, because I don't like the fact that my sim will become an Elder and lose her blonde hair colour.

  • Nothing wrong with playing with aging off. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sure not going to call the aging on police on you. LOL All kidding aside, if you prefer playing adults only, then it's your game. I'm just glad we each have a way to play the game our way. Have fun, whatever you do.
