Animals needy?

The dogs are way too needy to me too - the cats are a lot easier.

Super needy but my Sims totally ignores them too, which really isn't helpful.

Did you lock the front door for pets? I keep mine locked so they can only go out into the back yard unless someone takes the dog out for a walk. Haven’t had one run away yet. Not sure why yours would be THAT needy though.....mine let themselves out to go to the bathroom and I have the automatic feeder....so someone in the house just needs to pet or play with him or take him on a walk occasionally. My dog has the loyal trait too and he doesn’t demand all that much attention.

Both pets are needy and it's very hard to tell what they exactly want.

The dogs are actually fine - it's just very similar to real life where the dog requires more attention. The dog can go a day or two without a walk depending on their traits, some attention every few hours, they'll sleep literally anywhere, and getting an automatic food bowl is much better. You just have to find more of a balance and you'll find they're not that needy.

They are needy, but I found certain traits make them a lot easier to live with. When I first got the pack, I recreated my two cats, giving them the talkative and affectionate traits. I also created a dog with loyal and friendly traits. They drove me insane! I since recreated them with prowler, free spirit and independent traits and they were much better after that. Plus, with these traits they are more prone to bring home gifts and the pile of feathers!

Most of the dogs my Sims have had, have been super needy. Scared of the fireplace. Scared of the TV or the computer. I kept the door locked with the computer since the dog was scared, but he sits outside of the door and whines....but if I let him in....he just shakes in fear. It seems that after some time, even once the dog learns to go outside to do its business...it's like they forget & your Sims has to ask them to go out again.

In my current save game...I do have a dog named Kimber who is super chill. She's an aggressive dog, loyal, and playful. She's only scared of the stove...and just avoids going into the kitchen. Kimber's been my best dog yet.

I think cats are more spot on! My Sims usually have cats as cats seem to do things that cats do in real life (i.e. jump on counters, play in their kitty cat tree/condo, scratch on the post, play with their toys, etc.). Even my Sim's super active cat, is pretty chill and doesn't require much. I think the dogs & the fears have been made over the top....reminds of that stupid talking toilet and how the animation is too much...

My animals tend to be super needy too but I really do adore that particular pack. I think it is one of my favs for sure. :) :) :)

Sometimes it's more a case of whiny than needy. When you look at the pet's needs panel with the control pets mod the moment they start complaining, you'll notice that often the hunger bar is yellow instead of red. For social they take their time and come meowing only when the bar is orange, but they do not take any chances with their mealtimes, lol.

At the moment I have three cats and one dog in four different households and I play many-sim households, so caring for my pets is easy. But I shudder at the thought of a single sim multi pet household with those complainers.

It's just like my cats irl, they'll never stop crying if they're just barely getting hungry! :p
