Animals needy?

I just got this expansion and I'm having a hard time constantly caring for these dogs needs. I literally can't do anything else but interact with them or they run away. I even took off the loyaltiy thinking thats why they were needy but that didn't help. My sim likes to garden, explore, cook, run a business, but I can't do anything but deal with these 2 dogs. Am i doing something wrong? Are the cats easier? Cause i'm about to just put them up for adoption and regret even buying this pack...

    Ea needs to fix this issues the pets don't eat unless you call them that is silly because if a Sim puts a plate with their food down the animal eats it. Yet they walk around looking sad when there is no food and they dont' even go to eat it when the Sim fills the bowl you have to call them.

    LittleMsSam made a mod that makes dogs a lot easier.

    Basically a walk will fill Affection, Play, Bladder, Bowel and lock them for a while. This means you should only have to walk them daily, feed them and bath them to keep them happy.

    She also made mods that allow you to hire dog walkers/joggers, have kids walk dogs, ask someone else (friend/neighbour etc) to walk or bath your dog.

    The whole lot comes in handy at times.
