Annoying Phone calls early in the morning about "gigs"?

I don't know if this is the exact issue that you're experiencing but, there's a known bug where sims who are not in freelancer careers get reminder calls to do gigs:

I experienced the bug when I did the Eco Lifestyle trial.

@EternalSunshine, thank you so much for sharing that link. That is exactly the issue I'm having. It happens in every one of my played households, and started happening once they all had at least one sim with some levels in the Fabrication skill.

I had searched for that bug report but the one I found was tagged as having been fixed in a patch a while ago, apparently I didn't search well enough because the one that you linked doesn't indicate that and has some new replies from people saying it started for them with one of the recent game updates, which is also when it started for me.

I've added my me too to it, and for now I'll just fix it by modding that tuning file in my game. Thank you for your response!

I wish there was a toggle to turn off the annoying phone.

Yes @SERVERFRA I want my sims phone to be like mine, I want to shut the ringers off on the phones and have it so they just use it for "Outgoing" calls, travel, and other things. No more pop up phone calls asking about having a baby.

You can always silence your phone, its one of the two top buttons when you open it. The other is to chance colour or something.

I haven't had the gig-issue, but if its linked to fabrication, no wonder. Freelancer fabricator is also borked these days, with gigs not completing when you've done all the tasks.

I have the same issue. I ended up downloading a mod to stop them until it gets fixed which is hopefully soon, cuz this bug has been already since the Cottage Living patch.

It happens to me and it did annoy me, but I learned to ignore them, I do not use mods in my game.

This happens to me as well. Silencing the phone doesn't help as it slams the game to a halt with a box where you have to click a button.

@ModerateOsprey, Yah, that's what's most annoying about it! And it happens at a time where sims are asleep and the game is in super-fast-forward, at least in my game. Which stinks.

I dug into the problem, and it's caused by two specific gig types, though the game has like 6 of them. 4 of them only give you the phone calls if you have an active sim in the relevant freelance career, but for fabricating and interior design, the code to check for the freelance career was not included by EA for some reason.
There's a mod to fix this by Zero that I found, and I made a quick fix of my own for the fabricator calls.

Yeah, pretty bad leaving that in - it really is immersion breaking

I really must look into doing some of my own tuning. I keep shying away as starting to look at code is a bit like taking a busman's holiday for me.

Will hunt down Zero's mod. Does it not cover fabricators?
