I chose to use my NewCrest for concert venues. I do have a couple of eateries in place, but mostly concert halls or even open-air stages.
In my Ancestral save I've used this world to represent the Settlements in North Carolina, which is now East Tennessee. Lots of crude log cabins, a Trading Post, maybe even a small Tavern.

For the big lot I have two words for you. Wedding Venue.

I did that once. I used the smaller lots to the right and back as sort of a suburban housing area....then I used the bigger lots for things like nightclubs, restaurants and a pool

I turned my Newcrest into a eco tiny home village. All residential lots are tiny homes. And then I have an eco themed cafe and restaurant as well as a garden center community lot.

Initially, I started to place lots from the gallery that wouldn't fit anywhere else, like the diner and the restaurant from dining out, a nightclub, a café and I think a library. Then I started building stuff that wouldn't fit anywhere else, either, like another café that one day is gonna be purchased by one of my Sims so she can have her own business.
Then I added a nightclub of my own, and when the bistro pack came out, I figured Newcrest is the best area to play around with that. Now it's slowly turning into a town that focuses on dining, partying, hanging out and doing fun stuff. The most recent building is a very large community center on the large lot on the bottom left, complete with a spa and a fitness area as well as a library, an entire floor for kids and yet another one for gamers, then there's a bistro which means I'll probably delete the one I built earlier... in short, there's a lot to do and most lots are suitable for dates, too. I've been thinking about adding a small wedding venue, too, and maybe a gallery.

I tried to fill my Newcrest with one of each type of important community Lot so that when I am playing if I want to take a sim to, say, a museum and their own world doesn't have one I know that I can find one in Newcrest without having to try and track down another location! And my 'park' there is actually a multi-story career venue for story-telling, which has offices for business, lawyers, techies etc, a basement for criminals, a restaurant where chefs can practice their skills, an artists room etc - this is where my sims meet up with their work colleagues in their GT clubs.
Love that multipurpose park lot idea 🙂

SweetShineKahWhen I played Zombie Apocalypse Challenge, I converted Newcrest into a post-apocalyptic world and downloaded/build dilapidated homes and venues, including a zombie fortress, a bombed-out pool, and an underground complex with a zombie dungeon hidden under some rubble.
