I was given a little cash for my birthday. I'm getting Strangerville, but I'm unable to choose a stuff pack (I've read so much and watched so many videos, I am more confused than enlightened!) I'm wondering whether to wait for Tiny Living as its not long now. I know its not perfect, but I like the style of the furnishings. I'm not into vampires or magic, I barely ever use pets or kids (although if I play a sim for long enough for them to have one, I'll keep it.) I like boho, atomic, mid century modern, and higher needs-fulfilment objects that don't look highly glamorous. Perhaps I should go for a pack that is popular for CC recolours? Movie Stuff has boho furniture.

I recommend Backyard stuff to go with Island Living and Outdoor retreat. Gameplay objects are a lemonade tray, wind chimes and a waterslide. Swatches on CAS and furniture vary, some are colorful, others can even blend in with rags to riches gameplay.

The new stuff pack though will have that sort of style too (really looking forward to it because of this specifically). I have to say please preview movie stuff because the colors are very strong and don't go with many other things. There is usually a beige in each of the pieces though but they don't look mid-century at all... at least that's how I see it. I do use that pack sparingly for decor though. The movie extras, popcorn ect are great additons though so I don't think it's a bad pack at all.

I personally like it and the disease/hamster that it comes with a lot less to take care of for your scientist or strange sims!

I totally forgot that it comes with the hamster.

I don't usually have pets for my sims I play, but I like to set lots to cat or dog friendly sometimes, and end up feeding them. I like seeing them around but i don't like having responsibility for them, lol.

Both are great packs imho, Movie Hangout being my favorite.

If you don't care for pets, kids and glamorous stuff, then avoid My First Pet, Kids Room, Toddler, Glamour Vintage and Moschino.

Seems to me the Micro Home is basically tailor made for off the grid / Sulani world in Island Living. I see nothing weird with using an outdoor shower, or even a bathtub behind a bush in one of the lone lots on the far end of the islands for example. In the middle of Windenburg? ...MAYBE I wouldn't be showering outdoors. :D

High enough rooftop? lol

I started off with a shower outside on one wall of my Sulani off grid home, but the curtained bath/shower was all they would use (I had three living there and didn't want bathroom arguments). They swam a lot which seemed to help the hygiene (unless there was pollution.) Curiously I didn't have the no-hygiene gain bug with that shower/bath combo item, which may mean it was related to whether the item was on or off grid.

I had all the cooking and eating going on outside too though, with the grill, on the opposite side of the house. Doing the same with a new household in Strangerville now, didn't want to build a big house so they have a shack over a "secret" basement and al-fresco grilling and dining.
