Any way to stop the dumb monster under the bed from wakeing up m kids every night?

Yes, just use the the monster night light that was included with the pack. :)
I see other simmers saying it doesn't always work for them, but I haven't had that issue personally. Just make sure the light is on.

Sometimes it doesn't work, but maybe it depends on the traits of the sim. My child sim had the gloomy trait and woke up every night without a fail because of the monster under the bed even with the light above the bed. However, when I used the light for my other child sim they were never woken up, not even once.
