I'm not afraid ā”ļø I simply do not update.
After that For Rent fiasco I've become vigilant yet fearless.
I've learned the hard way. I am now a Wait Warrior.
I refuse to update the game until I know it'll survive the latest patch, whether that's Hotfix 1, 3 , 5 , or 16, it doesn't matter. Safety first. I will also wait for essential mods to receive an update. I have 2 or 3 gamesavers installed that I can no longer play without.
I'm in offline mode now and I'm content. I'll remain in my little Sims 4 Storm Shelter until the storm has passed. There is so much I haven't explored yet. Aye, I've got plenty things to keep me going. It's all good! š - luciusstormSeasoned Veteran
I wouldn't say I'm afraid. I'm just cautious. I've learned it's always a good idea to plan on waiting at least a few days, maybe a week, before loading any patch. That gives the modders a chance to update their mods and the devs (or modders) time to sort out any major bugs that crept in.
Offline mode is good.

Well, today's patch fixed the simology panel issue that made it literally impossible for me to play (if I can't save, I may as well not be playing)
The sims being mean is a bit irritating, but as long as I keep an eye on it to have one sim or the other appologise, it seems to be managable for me.
I haven't checked if I have the spellcaster bug. That could cause serious problems as my focal sim is (as per usual for me) a spellcaster.- atreya33Seasoned Ace
What is the spellcaster bug? I was planning on updating next time I play but my main sim is a spellcaster. I don't want to risk her.

apparently you can't learn spells from books? and learning spells by practicing may be harder/not working either. I haven't tested the books yet, but I did have my spellcaster practice practical spells and not learn anything, but I've always had terrible luck with practicing magic to learn.

I'm on the road at the moment and didn't bring my gaming laptop along this time. I patched on Tuesday, but nothing further. I didn't get a chance to download the EP, before we left, but I will do so in a few days, after we get home. The Sims I wanted this EP for are yet children, so I've got time. :) I shall see if I need the 'hotfix patch'. None was offered the last time I had a chance to play, which was last Wednesday.
Updated since I wanted to test the new pack
verdict so far : do not update unless you like to live dangerously and watch the world burn š all the sims are just autonomously fighting each other which is amusing but only because I'm playing new save and not touching my important saves

I'm not afraid because let's face it we've all been down this road many, many times. I'm a mod user so I never update right away anyway but I'm usually able to update within a few days as soon as my mods are updated. This time though I don't know when I'll be updating because I have no plans to at all until all of these bugs are fixed. No telling how long that will take. I can't abide my sims being mean to each other, and the other bugs sound equally game breaking. So no not afraid, just cautious as usual. Offline mode is my best friend!

I'm afraid everyone is experiencing bugs one way or another.
I also make a backup of my folder and put it away for safety. I've started a new game to enjoy the new pack and its features. Even a save dedicated to having no mods is prone to break (I've lost a big save that way during the For Rent release), so be careful.

I updated and now my sims are being extremely mean to each other. Iām so mad lol.

Did you back up your game before you patched? If so, try putting a COPY of your backed up save file into the game you're playing. I once patched (years ago) and the game seemed to target my favorite Sim, Erik Cantrell (my Global Superstar, Rock Star). He kept dying. I complained on the forums and someone asked if I had backed up my game. I had and once I swapped out the saves folder that fixed the problem. I'm not saying with any authority, that doing so will fix what's going on in your game, only that it may be worthwhile to try it. Best of luck.

I have not updated my game yet because of the bug reports. I'm also afraid of my no phone mod breaking, so I'm waiting a little longer because I don't know if it will ever be updated again and I can't play without it.

At this point, with every big patch, I always try to be patient and wait at least one week to check on the frequent bug reports and the mods updates. It's not ideal, but it's what it is.
Every time I start the game after an update I'm there with my fingers crossed, repeating something like: "please, don't crash, don't crash!" Up to now I was lucky, but who knows...

Okay so, I accidently updated my game. š¬ But, so far I can load my save and go into build/buy and live mode. I plan on buying the new pack soon. I only need to update Tmexi Mods, but so far things are okay. phew I might run into something, but I hope not.
