Updated since I wanted to test the new pack
verdict so far : do not update unless you like to live dangerously and watch the world burn 😂 all the sims are just autonomously fighting each other which is amusing but only because I'm playing new save and not touching my important saves

I have started to play in live mode. I haven't had mean Sims, but I do have the new pack which might be a factor.
It's gone pretty well, but I haven't been able to cuddle in bed. It may be where I have the beds placed, but all other interactions work fine.
I've also had some LE's that don't seem to be mod related, but have something to do with relationship decay. They may be related to the dating actions.
Obviously I want to investigate these further but so far my game isn't burning to the ground.

Okay so, I accidently updated my game. 😬 But, so far I can load my save and go into build/buy and live mode. I plan on buying the new pack soon. I only need to update Tmexi Mods, but so far things are okay. phew I might run into something, but I hope not.

I'm not afraid ➡️ I simply do not update.
After that For Rent fiasco I've become vigilant yet fearless.
I've learned the hard way. I am now a Wait Warrior.
I refuse to update the game until I know it'll survive the latest patch, whether that's Hotfix 1, 3 , 5 , or 16, it doesn't matter. Safety first. I will also wait for essential mods to receive an update. I have 2 or 3 gamesavers installed that I can no longer play without.
I'm in offline mode now and I'm content. I'll remain in my little Sims 4 Storm Shelter until the storm has passed. There is so much I haven't explored yet. Aye, I've got plenty things to keep me going. It's all good! 😎 I do understand you, but I prefer to have the game always updated, while I leave my precious saves and other stuff like Tray on the desktop, so I can enjoy the new features and wait until the game reaches a stable version.

I'm afraid everyone is experiencing bugs one way or another.
I also make a backup of my folder and put it away for safety. I've started a new game to enjoy the new pack and its features. Even a save dedicated to having no mods is prone to break (I've lost a big save that way during the For Rent release), so be careful.

What is the spellcaster bug? I was planning on updating next time I play but my main sim is a spellcaster. I don't want to risk her.

apparently you can't learn spells from books? and learning spells by practicing may be harder/not working either. I haven't tested the books yet, but I did have my spellcaster practice practical spells and not learn anything, but I've always had terrible luck with practicing magic to learn.

LittleMsSam has modded Improved Practical Spells to include a fix for this problem if you are open to using mods.

Afraid is not even close. I am totally traumatised. I really did not expect to encounter so many problems w this update. I had close calls, one big bug w the eyelashes screwing toddlers faces had me start a new game w no toddlers! But this one, takes the cake, it stopped me from playing for a week now. So from now on, as long as ima have mods, im not updating, if i can get my game to work, im gonna stay offline for as long as i can.
