@Chazzzy Woah, I hadn't eve thought of it that way when it comes to repurchasing content for different iterations. That part didn't bother me. Also I understand prices would increase with time. Prices increased from TS1 to TS3 as well. It's supposed to happen that way, due to inflation, and production costs as they go more and more in depth with both graphics and gameplay mechanics. However, let's say they introduce the other supernatural life states one GP at a time. Someone who absolutely loves having Witches, Vampires, Werewolves AND Fairies, would end up paying $80, twice the price of an expansion. On the other hand I did enjoy how they fleshed out the vampire state more in this iteration, which DOES make me look forward to the prospect of having the other states treated in the same way. This doesn't make me think it's worth double the money though.
Also, some of these packs, while fleshing out some aspects, still feel very incomplete. This isn't entirely due to the piecemealing though. Like the Jungle Adventure. At first it seems like a nice reintroduction of the cultural aspects of Bon Voyage, and the exploration of World Adventures. I'd compare it to Vacations too, if I had a clearer memory of it lol. As I kept researching the pack, I noticed neat little things that were done a little differently, like the culture skill and certain item interactions. On those merits it seems like a solid enough pack, but when you think back to the amount of interactions and options found in just one destination of either the TS2 or TS3 packs, this doesn't feel like it's added anything new and worse, it feels limited. I shouldn't feel that way about a pack where I paid more than what it was worth in a previous iteration. In a new iteration, I don't want just a reintroduction of the older gameplay, especially at these prices. There should be more expansion to it, more in-depth interactions, or fleshed out positive and negative consequences. Or perhaps more complex puzzles for the tombs, or more cultural aspects to explore than dance, clothes, and food/drinks. How awesome would it have been if you could learn a local trade skill, alongside the culture skill? Something random, like having the region be known for making fabrics or certain kinds of objects from Llama wool. It could be like a hidden "weaving" skill that can be mastered while studying the culture of that region and there could be certain objects or clothing you could only get through that skill... or something. It would certainly add another layer to a pack that honestly feels like they're just going through the motions, and make these prices more agreeable.
Heck, now that I think about it, I probably wouldn't be whining quite so much about the prices if GP were $15 instead of $20. That way, if they piecemeal things like the supernatural states like I said earlier, then it would only cost $20 more instead of doubling the price. Or even if, instead of having them separated into game packs, they created the full expansion and sold that for $50 rather than $40. An increase in price like that wouldn't have bothered me either... But this piecemeal approach that basically splits up what I loved from previous games into so many different packs, especially putting things like laundry and such into stuff packs, just feels like a scummy cash-grab.
