Instead of GPs we had the Sims 3 Store, including additional worlds (and if you wanted special content you had to pay more for the Gold Edition, and sets with premium items where you had to get the whole thing even if you just wanted the premium item.
Correction, instead of GP’s we had EP’s and they were complete. Including worlds that were specifically designed for the features delivered (China, Egypt, France, Twinbrook, Bridgeport, Appaloosa Plains, Starlight Shores, Moonlight Falls, Isla Paradiso, the campus, Oasis Landing; in fact bringing up worlds is the worst and most telling comparison here). The Store had nothing to do with the packs.
