Believe what you want - you can speculate all you want. I just know when ever there has been outrage - there has been elimination in the next rendition. It is there to see and happened every time.
So does that mean that due to the outrage of loot boxing and breaking up content to make an extra buck, that this dirty business practice will stop and they will finally make a base game that is fully fleshed out and finished at the time of launch then? Cause that would be greeeeaaaaat.
Well if you read EA News at one point the CEO announced EA would not have loot boxes ever again - is all I can say. But who knows if that was just a foot jerk reaction at the time or set in gold? Of course that does not say the other companies that have loot boxes prior to EA doing likewise will ever follow suite. So I assume the outrage did get them removed at least at the time of that remark. Personally I have never bought that kind of loot box for any game any where, other then when the Sims 3 had some grab bag loot boxes in the store once which were real cheap - so not really an issue that phases me much.
As for sims ever having that issue - well who's to say there will ever be another sims game - EA is also known to eradicate games when there is a lot of unrest too. I hope that doesn't happen - but you never know. I am not a seer of the future - I only see it as how it was and how it isn't like that any more - and oh yeah, remember all the outrage. Sometimes it's useful like we got rid of Securom and we got back Sims toddlers. But getting less packs instead of more or a chance to get packs that add on to earlier packs I fear are now in jeopardy.
I guess we wait and see.
