Anyone else concerned by the way Sims 4 is being broken up and sold?

I don't want Sims 4 to die. But I don't like the route EA are eyeballing for it. It's like they're thinking, "Okay, DLC is making us tons of money but can we also fit some kind of Lootboxes into Sims 4? And how can we do it without people noticing?
