I don't want Sims 4 to die. But I don't like the route EA are eyeballing for it. It's like they're thinking, "Okay, DLC is making us tons of money but can we also fit some kind of Lootboxes into Sims 4? And how can we do it without people noticing?
We had grabbag lootboxes for a while in the Sims 3 store and actually many people liked it - but there was complaints from people who did not like spending money on grab bags (they could have not bought them, instead of carrying on over them) - and instead of hearing those of us that liked it - they were stopped with no warning or anything. EA has proven many times - they don't like complaints. Instead of changing things - they just end it.
Every game or studio or anything EA has suddenly shut down always was EA's response - in stead of fixing the issue - end it all. When you know a company is well known to follow that path - it is worrisome if you are one of the ones that had little or no issue with what was offered, especially knowing how they've been known to react.
Maybe it does mean nothing at all - but with EA you never know.
