In response, maybe what I put may be confusing and harsh, let me kinda clear what I mean... I didn't feel this way in the beginning, I have bought ever expansion, game pack, and stuff pack... I still (still kinda do but it very low) had this small hope that all the constant disappointment I had with the game would change and I would finally like it instead of constantly getting bored. I am not really saying I want it to die..but constantly seeing it in the state it is and constantly being let down and unimpressed .... I am almost to the point of just "Geez, please if you gonna keep doing this,...honestly I wish you'd go to the drawing board and start a new with TS5 with the feedback you gotten (both good and bad) and give us something even better." ..... And heck I may even be eating my own words in the future they may even bring something to change how I feel about the game...
what am I trying to say is....can you blame me why I feel like this??? I've been a fan ever since my mother surprised me with TS1 at 9 years old...:(...
.... ok I'll see myself out.
You don't need to apologize for how you feel. This is the feedback section... and if you agree with something said that hits it on the head...then that's good, own it. Same can be said for those who disagree.
I too have been playing the game since TS1.... I see no reason to feel bad for what I said about wanting the game to die. This franchise will never really be dead. The Sims is a personal experience, and while previous versions of the game are still playable...those who dislike TS4 will be able to play the previous versions for a long time. And those who like TS4 will continue to play it, long after it collects dust.
I would just like EA to stop making content for this game that is little to no quality, and for that matter all versions of this game in general....especially if they are not going to make an actual effort. They have the mobile version now, so let that be their focus, and let some other company take over the PC/Mac version.
The fact that this forum has thread after thread of things people want to see different in the game, or changed, or added...not to mention all the threads that display the array of disappointment about TS4, should be a clear indication that this is not what we ordered. We did not ask for a game that the developers dictate how it should be played...all the while shoving their slogan of "you rule" down our throats. And we certainly didn't as for content to be broken up in a way that is so blatantly over charging for less.
When the business practices are on full display and overshadow the actual game itself.... I think it's time to hang it up and let someone else take the reins.
Other companies that wanted to says it is too hard and too expensive and require too many employee for them to make this game. The only ones that ever seriously considered turned it down just because of the size and number of employees this game needs. No one is willing to take on this big of a project. I have read everything other studios have said about it - even those who claim this is one game they all wished they could tackle but realize it just too big for any of them. Paradox even saluted the entire EA Sims team after they saw all that was involved.
