Yeah, I can understand how a game like the Sims would be very difficult to make.
And I’m still disappointed in how slim Sims 4 is going in 4 years, when past games had much more content at this point.
I like it, but I just want it to be as content-filled, just like the awesome past games of the franchise were! :( A franchise should not be ignoring their past.
I feel it’s kind of disrespectful to pretend past stuff doesn’t exist, and also ignoring that the past stuff have given many customers a lot of expectations. It’s like your own success ends up being your own downfall: because the past Sims games were so awesome and full of sooo much awesome stuff, now some of us have more expectations than ever. And whose fault was that, lol? ;)
You spoiled us so much in the past, EA! XD I feel EA could do better with a better budget and better research of the fanbase. That toddler debacle was a HUGE mistake, and I’m surprised they did such a thing at launch.
Reboot or not, this game has a history, and there are many fans of the past games who expect better.
ETA: I’m just gonna wait and see how Sims 4 fares in a few more years. If it lives, great. If it doesn’t, then too bad. If the company cancels the franchise because of Sims 4’s future failures, then maybe the company needs to think about why it failed. I have no sympathy for companies that don’t listen to customers or blame their customers.
