To be clear, since I feel my responses may sound very callous, I DO enjoy the Sims 4. I feel it had potential, and it does keep me entertained.
I love the toddlers and vampires, and I love Sutff Packs (and Game Packs). It’s just... with this recent SP, I expected better. It could have been a lovely pack with a cute little hamster, instead of looking like a sliced up and mixed up weird/confusing money-grab of a pack (for some of us).
I would have felt better about the pack if it was focused on the hamster, and added more unique CAS or B/B items instead of stuff that is from Cats & Dogs. I wanted the hamster, but I did not have Cats & Dogs, so I would be paying full price for part of a pack. It just didn’t make sense to me to mix it up like that, and present something that looked like it could have been chopped off of the recent Cats & Dogs Pack.
I have bought most of the other Stuff Packs and Game Packs and almost all of the Expansion Packs (except Cats & Dogs), so I do really do like Sims 4 enough to buy some good content for it. (I’ve planned to get Parenthood next, actually.)
I’m just...disappointed at this kind of move with that SP. I hope future packs do not follow this kind of pattern. The Packs should be worthwhile with content, or, if the company keeps doing this SP-for-EP stuff, then they should offer different prices for those of us who didn’t buy the required EP portions of the pack.
Another concern is the bug fixing. I haven’t played Sims 4 in a while due to a few bugs a bit before Cats & Dogs came out. (Hopefully there has been some bug fixes since then.)
Anyway, I’ve enjoyed Sims 4, but I feel bugs, the tuning of emotions, and the slow pieced up pack releases are kind of dampening the experience. I hope the next packs will be worthwhile with good content. The Sims 4 toddlers and vampires were excellent additions, so I know the company has the know-how to do good stuff! :)
I’m waiting for Seasons and an island paradise-like Pack (or whatever new pack) to see how future packs will be handled from here on out. The Expansion Packs have been...meh for me, but I did like Game Packs and some stuff packs, so...we’ll see. ^_^
