Anyone Else Feel Guilty About Changing a Sim's Genetics?

I often change mine. I don't necessarily make them attractive, which is subjective, but sometimes I do. I give makeovers to the townies too. I figure it's my game, I'm going to make it the way I want it.

I don't play a legacy game, though, so maybe that makes a difference. I suspect if I did I would probably still edit them if I thought they were hideous. Maybe you can think of it as plastic surgery rather than altering genetics. That would be realistic and really not all that uncommon.
