Anyone else use these?

Unless it has changed, you need to have The Sims 3 game + packs registered to your account in order to unlock them for The Sims 4. Each EP unlocks a different color/emotion lamp. Read about it here: https://sims-online.com/get-unique-rewards-sims-4/

@hunniboo1 I'm assuming you have The Sims 3 and some packs registered then? If not, then something has changed and everyone can get them now but I don't think so. It's supposed to require registration of those games to unlock in The Sims 4.

No, these lamps are available only to anyone that bought TS3 packs. They are not available with TS4. I wish they were, they're awesome. But, like I said, it's a nice reward/perk for those who play TS3. TS2 players got a free copy of TS2 Ultimate. :)

I use them all the time. Sometimes it feels like I'm cheating but I keep telling myself they are in the buy catalogue so it's not cheating lol

I've often used the plain white one just as a different small table lamp. It's a good true-white light in the middle of a dining table for face-lighting too. Some Sim couples (and a couple of Sim singles) have the red one in their bedrooms too :)

I love them, but only really used them for decorative purposes or for small "memories" of TS3. When I started playing, I recreated my family from TS3 who lived on Sunlit Tides back then and I just had to get them the Island Paradise one as a "souvenir" from home.

I just recently discovered their emotional auras and now use them constantly. For example, when I have a sim who has the master chef aspiration which requires to cook meals while inspired, I just put *I think the Ambitions one* in the kitchen so they are constantly inspired. It really comes in handy. The same when I have a programmer/gamer sim and want them to earn their skills faster.

I forget they exist most of the time, but I actually just put a few of them on the desk in one of my saves.

Sadly I never played sims 3 and don't have these. They look pretty and helpful though.

If you don't have The Sims 3, the emotional paintings can be used in the same way as well. If you have a painter, just have them paint when they are in the emotion you want, and enable the aura by clicking on it just like the lamps. Or, if you have GTW, you can make a retail gallery with emotional paintings for sale, too. There are a lot of rooms in the Maxis Gallery with the groups of paintings already done, available for download.

There are actually quite a few objects in the build/buy catalog with this ability. Almost all of the collected items, and the reward items are able to be set up this way. The paintings are one of my favorites, tho, because they don't take up table slots, and look really normal.

I have one of the Focus lamps on the table where my Sims kids and teens do their homework. It helps a lot - especially if they've had a bad day at school.
