Anyone else's sim losing their earbuds constantly?

I've just started a new save to check out all there is to do with Island Paradise. As is per usual, not long after my sims started living her life, she got a free pair of earbuds. I had her listening to music on them to increase her fun while she was doing other things, and then they turned off automatically when she went to bed that night. The next day, I went to her inventory and the earbuds were no longer there. I looked all over her small lot, no earbuds.

So I bought her a pair from buy mode and this time I made sure to turn off the earbuds (and check that they were still in the inventory) before going to bed. But then they were gone the next time I checked the inventory.

I can't keep buying her new earbuds every day! But I really like being able to have her listening to background music while she works.
