Anyone notice how it's harder to do rags to riches now?

When I did a rags to riches scenario, I got burnout. lol. My Sim was doing nothing but trying to make money and I got bored. I ended up cheating. I've been thinking of doing it again, but making more of an effort to do more varied things. If this is true, it might help. I actually haven't done any of the other scenarios. None of them have appealed to my play style.
