Apartment puppy problems?

I've only had adult dogs in apartments before, but I recently got a puppy in one and it seems like it doesn't work very well. You can't take the puppy on walks, and the puppy can't use the elevator to go outside to do its business, so the poor thing is constantly uncomfortable and peeing/pooping inside. I have to take them out to the park or something in order to let them do their business, lol. I made me wish we had some kind of "puppy training pads" for when they're too little to take on walks (I mean, that's what a lot of dog owners I know use irl so...)

Anyway, anyone else run into this? Is there any solution, like a mod or something anyone knows about? I guess as it is, people should just know that for puppies, you can't live int the city, or you need to resign yourself to traveling off lot every time your puppy needs to go, lol.
  • Sometimes I've found it works if you've got the apartment with the balcony, then the dogs can go outside on the balcony. Otherwise you can pick them up and take them downstairs. It's a little annoying, but thankfully puppy life stages are pretty short! It's sort of the same if you live in a house with a raised foundation and steps. They can't climb down the steps to go outside until they're adults. It's just a farther walk to carry them in an apartment :D
