I think people are getting confused on what the laundry list actually is. It doesn't mean suddenly all major bugs people want fixed are going to be fixed every month. It's just to give simmers a better insight because they always ask for more transparency. But if the laundry list makes people upset they might stop doing it altogether.
They acknowledge and are well aware of major bugs but have not found a fix yet or they would release it.
I seem to be in the minority here but I've never let bugs take away from my enjoyment of the game. Just yesterday I played for long hours and found away around any encountered bug and continued playing. I even had the stairs bug too and I did exactly as @Mstybl95 stated above. Stopped the auto fencing and deleted the fence in front of the stairs. My sims used it as normal.
Anyone who feels angry or frustrated over the bugs or find them game breaking should probably take some time off to play a few other games until they are fixed whenever they figure them out. Hopefully soon ?
Honestly, some of the bugs (or undesirable game mechanics) are so glaring that they should have been spotted and dealt with in the play-testing phase...
I also try not to be bothered by bugs, but constantly having to resort to work-arounds for some bugs are simply frustrating when playing a supposedly tested game. Using the stair bug as an example, the “delete fence” work-around totally rendered any build with open stairways ridiculous with flooring covering the planned open section.
I really wish they would look into some other studios (e.g., Mojang, Colossal Order) for better practices on the communication of bug fixes. One of them even releases a video recently explaining up-front why and how they have decided to break up an upcoming update into two. On a PR standpoint, I wish that is what the Sims team would do for actual tangible transparency.
Anyway, I really like the idea that @CAPTAIN_NXR7 proposed. That is one clear and creative solution :D
