Are lifespans directly proportional?

A little bit of math, or not...?

I play in short lifespan and finally have a sim that is going to start university. I don't want to play in short during the course lenght cause after the course there will be very few time left to enjoy the benefits of all the sacrifice she's about to do. I don't want to stop aging also cause i always like to have time progressing in my game.

So im thinking in changing aging to long during the course. But how many time will actually pass on short lifespan after i change it back?

I know long lifespan is 8 times faster than short. Im planning to take the course in 3 weeks, so 21 days. So, if this is directly proportional (is it?) getting back to short lifespan i should divide 21 for 8, and that gives me 2,625 days, or may i say, ~3 days. That would be ok for me...

Has anyone tried it before? Or has anyone noticed that going from long to normal, for example, is directly proportional?

(I will try anyway, so if no one has tried it i will tell my experience here after my sim finishes her degree)

  • I've never gone from Short to long and back, but I have shifted from Long to Normal for a challenge, and yes, everything seemed to be roughly proportional.
