In real life, there are a bunch of 'unofficial' holidays as well that don't grant you a day off work/school, and if you want those off you need to take vacation time, so I totally agree we shouldn't be allowed to make an 'unlimited' amount of no work/school holidays for our Sims, just a set amount of them, and if we wanted our active household to have time off during one of the lesser holidays we created (ones that we didn't set as off work/school), they would need to give up vacation time, of course.
We have a built in machanic for this in the game though. Just don't toggle day off school/work and if you have a specific sim who loves the holiday they can call in a vacation day. My Halloween like holiday and Love Day are like this.
The longer I think on this the more annoyed I am at the way this was implemented. This pack was sold to us highlighting holidays. It failed to mention I would have to ignore my vacation worlds more now if I wanted to emulate several of the paid holidays I get in real life. Why is this even a trade off? Who really cares what people abuse in thier game? Most people would use the holidays here and there and other people would spam paid holidays which are -entirely- more work than just typing in Money .
I just can't understand why anyone thought that -this- was the exploit to not have in the game. This was the line too far *shrug* and here I was thinking they were probably going to sell us several more vacation worlds in the upcoming years.
