Are parents, divorced, relevant in your game?

I'm not against it happening in my game, but it hasn't happened yet. Closest I've had were some never-married parents where the children live with Mom. At least in my idea of the story there was some hostility between the parents, and they'd yelled at each other a few times but weren't around each other for enough time to really build up a red relationship bar. Dad came over to hang out with the kids sometimes but he was often in an angry mood when he did. And then he died of old age, so no further drama.
