My main game is from an indie company that has always updated their game every single week. They are not a big AAA company with billions of dollars like EA. When any of their weekly updates comes with a problem, it is almost always patched the next day - they did this last week. They are working from home too, and have continued to provide weekly updates and support with no problem.
What they do not do is knowingly take money from people for a product that they know full well is too broken to sell to anyone. They don't blow people off for weeks and months on end after taking their money, and just leave them twisting in the wind with junkware to show for the money they spent.
They didn't have to sell anything that wasn't ready to go, but they did. They could at least support it once it's out the door, but they don't.
I'm with Paigeisin on this one. They are responsible for selling us the messes they knew weren't sellable, and there is no excuse for abandoning their responsibilities after the fact. If they couldn't support it and make it right, they should have delayed release.
Now they're just blowing us off. Again.
