It zaps everything away/recycles it (whatever its supposed to be doing) and even pays you when you put rubbish in (presumably for recycling). An added bonus is that angry people for some reason cannot kick over the "zapper" bin. For this reason they are also the ONLY bin you should ever put in a retail store or restaurant to prevent customers from kicking it over.
Unless I'm doing a starter home where I have to watch every single dollar being spent, I ALWAYS have the zapper bin. So much tidier and easier. :)
I was unaware that there was a zapper bin or that Sims could kick over trash bins. I haven't seen that since Sims 2.
