- Yes, my sims wouldn't get far in life if I just let them do as they wanted. "Years" later they'd still have only 1 skill point here and there and remain at the bottom of the career, and eventually they'd have the power cut off because the wouldn't be able to pay the bills at some point.
- I enjoy watching them caring for themselfs from time to time and most of them are quite capable.
- I play and like being god to my sims.
- Simmerville6 years agoLegendI do decide all their bigger events, but they normally live on free will on daily basis. It's a compromise, I guess :)
- I have full autonomy. I do plan out who they mary and what job they'll do and stuff but the game always does something to mess up my plans lol. I kinda like it though, makes it more challenging, exicitng and unpredictible.
- wildirishbanshee6 years agoSeasoned AceI do have full autonomy, but my sims rarely get to use it. Especially teen-Adult! Those are the skill your butt off years lol. Usually, the only time my sims have autonomy is when I just don't know what to do with them - toddlers with maxed out skills and elders with whims I can't fulfill just then. Oh yes, my sims get their whims fulfilled a LOT!
- Kathykins6 years agoSeasoned AceIts varies a lot, between "Sometimes" and "Absolutely". Sims are usually dumb, they make the wrong choices, and I'm not going to let them. They will let me know if or who they want to marry or have a kid, but I'll have the final say in it. If a sim is about to wet their pants, I'm not going to let them use the bar to make YET another drink, just because they're SO inspired and just HAVE to be creative.
(Edit because my grammar sucks) - annaliese396 years agoSeasoned AceI'm definitely a control freak. I am often the storyteller in my sims game with a very set plan for my characters and plot. The story may change and progress further over time, but it is all within my own control and mind. I am thinking of giving my sims a little autonomy of their own at some point though to help their story along just to see how I like it. I think it might help too when I'm not set on where I want things to go next.
- amber_ilumire6 years agoSeasoned AceAbsolute control freak over here! It’s part of the experience for me!
- I've always left freewill on, but I'm still going to direct them what to do unless I have to ignore one for another just for a few minutes. I like freewill on, but I'm still controlling them regardless.
