I used to only play realistic style, but I am liking occult storylines more and more these days. Especially since the packs are so well made. I love werewolves, vampires and spellcasters. I think mermaids bring nothing "occulty" to the gameplay, I have one sim that's a mermaid but she has a very normal life so I mostly don't count her as an occult.
However, I always "MCCC – Humanize all aliens". I hate their overall look and they don't fit my game at all. I am more fantasy than sci-fi oriented. Never been to Sixam either (and not planning to).
